Rainy days force umbrella sales up at Waitrose

The horrible weather has been welcomed by bosses of a Bracknell-based supermarket who saw sales of brollies go up by 5,000 per cent compared to last year.
Waitrose, whose head office is in Doncastle Road, is also reporting a 10 per cent increase on general sales compared to April 2011.
As well as brollies, sales of tights are up by 80 per cent and sales of hot drinks up by 62 per cent.
Shoppers were also thinking of our feathered friends as sales of wild bird food went up 71 per cent.
