As the Bank Holiday approaches, anyone looking to do a spot of DIY can pick up the materials from a new store in Winnersh.

Wickes opened its doors to customers on Saturday, March 31, offering a range of products and creating 30 new jobs.

The store in Gazelle Close includes a showroom featuring a range of kitchen and bathrooms and an outdoor projects section.

Tim Matthews, Wickes director of retail development, said: “The new Wickes store is a major investment in the area and plays a significant role in our ongoing store opening programme across the UK – we’re delighted with this latest addition to our estate.

“Winnersh needs a DIY store that’s serious about home improvement. We offer a range of quality DIY and trade products for the local community, and we know that once a customer has visited one of our stores they return time and again to enjoy quality products and low prices.”

The new store is open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 8pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

Good news i guess, but according to old articles on this site FOCUS employed 50 people; so that is still a net loss of 20 jobs.
