The Wokingham Chamber of Commerce will be appointing a new president next month after Wokingham businessman Mark Ashwell stepped down from the role.
Mr Ashwell, owner of TradeMark Windows, said: “I’ve stepped down to allow more time to pursue the championing of enterprise across Wokingham, Berkshire and beyond. I was president for five years and will remain a member of the Wokingham Chamber of Commerce.”
Mr Ashwell will become an executive board member for the Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). He also represents small and medium enterprises (SME) as part of the LEP and is vice-chairman of the Wokingham Borough Strategic Partnership.
He said: “I will carry on being actively involved in projects such as the Wokingham town centre regeneration. I have pledged my experience to support Wokingham Borough Council in its pursuit of making Wokingham a great place to do business.”
Ginette Gower, head of PR and communications at the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Group, thanked Mr Ashwell for all his work and added that a successor will be appointed at the local area meeting in April.”
