An Aldermaston company which helps homes and businesses become more energy efficient has won a national business award.
Energy efficiency solutions company, Anesco, has won the Red Bull Future 50 award which honours the most ambitious and game-changing start-ups in the UK.
The awards seek out new stars of the entrepreneurial world and aim to unearth the UK's most creative, stylish, and visionary brands.
Adrian Pike, CEO of Anesco, said he was thrilled with the award which honours companies identified as the most exciting, ground-breaking firms in the country.
“When we launched Anesco last year the aim was to lead our sector and we have firmly established ourselves in the renewable energy market,’’ said Adrian. “This award supports our successful start and acknowledges our strengths and long term aims.’’
Founded less than a year ago with just 12 employees, Anesco now has 80 members of staff – with plans to hit 500 by the end of 2012.
Shortlisted companies were judged by a panel which comprised Mark Pearson of myvouchercodes.co.uk, MessageLabs co-founder Jos White, Madeleine Milne of eMusic, Al Gosling, CEO of The Extreme Sports Company; and Nigel Trood, the managing director of Red Bull UK.
