Hilton staff donate cash to 'fantastic' PACT

March 16, 2010

Staff from a hotel were so impressed by the work of a Bracknell charity they handed over more than four times as much cash as it had asked for.

Employees at the Bracknell Hilton in Bagshot Road donated £1,000 to Parents And Children Together (PACT) after they visited the charity’s house for homeless young mothers.

Under the company’s Hilton in the Community Scheme, they decided to have a series of events to raise funds.

They handed the money to project manager Sally Ann Ward.

The cash came as a surprise to the charity as its volunteers had written to the hotel asking if it could donate £240 to the charity so it could organise a trip to a local farm.

Instead, it donated enough for four farm visits with a little bit to spare.

Linda Flint, manager of the Hilton, said: “PACT provides fantastic help for young families in need in Bracknell.

“Giving young people the opportunities and education to show their talent is always the best way to assist them and, in turn, our community, so we are thrilled to show our support for PACT’s wonderful work.”
