Romans ‘best placed’ to take letting agents forward

By Paul Robins
February 24, 2010

Romans has bolstered its position in the Reading property market with the acquisition of Copperfields Lettings.

The Caversham company – which has successfully let homes in the area for 20 years – became part of the Romans Group on Friday.

The move follows the early retirement of Copperfields boss Peter Lewin.

He said: “I wanted to ensure that whoever bought the business would have the same ethos.

“With their network of branches, highly experienced staff and exceptional marketing, I believe that Romans Lettings is best placed to take the company forward.”

Copperfields’ business has now been transferred to Romans’ Woodley office in Loddon Bridge Road.

Regional director John Sumner said: “I am delighted that Rob Flood and Katherine Lailey have joined Romans too, after many years at Copperfields.

“Their presence will ensure a smooth transfer of business, and I look forward to working with them.”
