Fujitsu strike cancelled while talks continue

By Hugh Fort
February 08, 2010

Talks are continuing over redundancies at Fujitsu.

Members of the Unite union, ACAS and representatives from the company were in talks over the final 42 redundancies at the company in Lovelace Road last week.

Union members cancelled proposed strike action today and on Friday because of the talks.

It was thought the dispute would be resolved on Friday but the talks have continued into this week and workers are confident of a decision in the next few days.

Staff are unhappy at the company’s cuts in staff and pensions and have held a number of strikes in protest.

It is thought if the company refuses to back down more strike action will follow.

Make the strikers redundant and Fujitsu can get back to working normally. Time to wake up and take notice of what is happenning in the real world. Pay is being frozen, pension systems altered and redundancies made. What makes a Fujitsu worker so special that these things shouldn't happen to them?
