Fujitsu staff walkout on first day of strikes

Staff at Fujitsu went on strike today – the first of six planned days of action against proposed redundancies, a pay freeze and pension alterations.

Fujitsu staff all over the country, including those based at Lovelace Road in Bracknell, downed tools toady ahead of further strikes in January.

Union Unite served notice of the strikes earlier this month after 75 per cent of members voted in favour of industrial action.

   Yet more Turkeys voting for Christmas. Times have changed, companies are fighting for their existence, staff have to realise that changes have to be made to keep companies in business. Now Fujitsu employ 11500 in the UK, of these 1500 belong to unite. Unite is not in a strong enough position to take industrial action with such a small percentage of workers. Now if their are going to be more redundancies, which of the workforce are most likely to be on the list, those who went on strike or those who stayed at work? The Unite leadership did not really think this one through
