November 20, 2009
An electronics company has opened its European headquarters in Winnersh Triangle in front of 50 industry executives.
Microchip Technology Inc opened the offices on Monday, November 9, as part of a £100 million development scheme at the business park.
The new headquarters have meeting rooms, a regional training centre for 50 delegates and a customer laboratory for design consultations.
Company chief executive Steve Sanghi said: “Building the new European headquarters had given Microchip the opportunity to create one of the electronic industry’s most eco-friendly buildings.
“The new building integrates innovative features to reduce carbon emissions to levels around 50 per cent lower than conventional buildings.”
The business park development will include a hotel and shops and will create hundreds of new jobs in the area when completed.
