Make your mark – think green

October 08, 2009

Young people in Berkshire say they lack green inspiration from top industry entrepreneurs.

A survey to launch the Make Your Mark Challenge showed 41 per cent of young people thought Sir Richard Branson is the greenest entrepreneur, while 38 per cent voted Victoria Beckham the worst green role model because of her jet-set lifestyle.

The survey of young people in the South East was carried out ahead of the one-day Make Your Mark Challenge for 14 to 19-year-olds that takes place during Global Entrepreneurship Week on November 16, with a low carbon theme this year.

The Make Your Mark Challenge encourages thousands of students in schools and colleges to come up with green business ideas and to think about the environmental impact.

The challenge is free to enter and offers teachers a fun and rewarding way to engage their students in an enterprising way.

I know this article appeared on the 8th and I am writing this on 30th but I think, young people, you forgot to take into account that R. Branson owns and runs a large fleet of very very ungreen planes which provide for V Beckham's lifestyle!!! He must be the person who single-handedly accounts for global pollution of the first order.
