Free massage helps relax GreenPark workers

May 05, 2009

Workers at GreenPark discovered a more hands-on approach to easing their executive stress.

Staff from firms based at the South Reading business park were treated to a 15-minute head, neck and shoulder message courtesy of therapists from Glo Wellbeing.

The free event was organised as part of Massage Week to help boost people’s well-being and alleviate stress without them having to leave the workplace.

The treatments were carried out using a specifically designed ergonomic chair and special techniques, which target the muscles most affected during the working day, such as repetitive strain and neck tension.

“What a pleasure it was to be offered a free massage at my place of work,” said David McCarthy, regional facilities manager at real estate firm DTZ.

“It was nice to de-stress for 15 minutes which allowed me to continue my day in a more relaxed manner.”

Massage Week is one of a host of events being held at the thriving commercial estate, owned by developer PRUPIM.

Representatives from Asthma UK are due to visit on Wednesday to promote the charity’s nationwide fundraising week.
