Award for man who kept buses going through the snow

The man who masterminded Reading’s Buses’ services through the snow chaos earlier this year’ has been named employee of the month by the company.
Controller Brian Dawber has been praised for his efforts in navigating the town’s buses through blizzard conditions and providing updates on the disruption last month.
Reading Transport Ltd’s personnel manager Caroline Anscombe congratulated the 45-year-old, from Tilehurst, on his achievement.
She said: “Brian not only communicated with staff, but made sure we put our services out as soon as it was safe to do so.
“He accomplished this in a calm and professional way, epitomising the focused professionalism that everyone displayed during that extremely difficult period.”
Mr Dawber, who has been with Reading Transport for 20 years, received a framed achievement certificate and a bonus.
