Drum shop wins top gong

Woodley shop DrumWright hit the right note when it scooped a national music industry award.

The music experts picked up the Music Industries Association’s Music Award for Best Partnership Initiative, sponsored by the international National Association of Music Merchandisers (NAMM).

The achievement was based on the success of a ‘Rock of Ages’ concert at the Rivermead Leisure Centre organised by DrumWright and featuring drummers from the Sixties and Seventies with some of the musicians they had played with over their careers.

The gong was presented during a glitzy gala evening at The Park Lane Hotel, Piccadilly, London, earlier this month.

Chris Wright, managing director of DrumWright, based at Loddon Vale Centre in Hurricane Way, said: “We are thrilled to have won this award which recognises what we believe to have been an exceptional event.”
