New school for young entrepreneurs

October 29, 2008

Enterprising students are being invited to join an elite business training school set up by Dragons’ Den star Peter Jones.

The National Enterprise Academy (NEA) in Buckinghamshire is open to 16 to 18 year olds interested in developing the skills to succeed in the modern business world.

Running from September 2009, the £32 million learning programme offers young people the first ever full-time courses in enterprise and entrepreneurship.

And ahead of the first full year course, the NEA is giving 35 lucky students the chance to take part in an introductory programme from January 5 to July 3, 2009.

Mr Jones and fellow entrepreneurs will act as teachers and mentors to those taking part.

The students will be based at Amersham and Witney College, but will also attend Aylesbury College, Bucks New University and GreenPark in Reading for masterclasses, challenges, and outdoor activities.

Businesses will be invited to get involved by sharing their expertise, acting as mentors, and offering work experience placements.

Those interested in taking part need to have been aged between 16-17 on September 1, 2008, and can apply online at www.peterjonesfoundation.org.
