Sejwix branches out with local food stall in the market

A gap in the market has been filled up with delicious local produce thanks to an enterprising town centre trader.

Neil Ellis, owner of Sejwix delicatessen and cafe-bar, will open a stall at Bracknell market to expand the range of local produce already on sale in the cafe.

Neil said: “I just thought I would promote some of the things I currently sell in the delicatessen.

“There is a whole range of local produce to choose from and it is all really well made.

“Some of the British cheese I will be offering is made very locally but I am also selling more well-known varieties like cheddar and red Leicester.”

The Sejwix local produce stall will stock locally produced jam, honey, marmalade and chutney.

It will also sell handmade cheeses such as the award-winning Barkham Blue, made in Barkham, and Waterloo and Wigmore cheeses, made on the Duke of Wellington Estate, and Old Winchester made in the New Forest. Olives and oils will also be on sale.

Town centre manager Graham Mountford said: “As well as all the lovely fresh and local produce available on this stall, the market also offers an array of temptations, from fresh fish to haberdashery, rare magazines to fruit and vegetables, so there are plenty of reasons to pop in.”

The market is open Monday to Saturday in the basement of Winchester House.
