Building a future for young people

10/ 7/2008

Brook Henderson is sponsoring a new training programme to help youngsters in Reading set the foundations for their careers.

The property group is funding a new kitchen fitters course as part of a drive to encourage more young people aged 16 to 25 to learn a trade.

The course, run by Reading Enterprise Gateway and Thames Valley University, provides students with a range of skills in kitchen planning, customer care and health and safety.

Students also get the opportunity to try a number of different trades at taster days held on the Thames Valley University campus.

Pelham Olive, of Brook Henderson, said: “We are pleased to provide support to this very practical course to provide skills to youngsters who do not normally qualify for standard college courses and thereby help them become self-sufficient in the adult world.”
