STAFF at the Pitcher and Piano are toasting their success after hitting the right note at the company’s annual awards party.

The popular Friar Street bar was the unanimous winner of the Best Bar Re-Launch title following a successful refurbishment last November.

The Hollywood Glamour-themed event, held at the Royal Honourable Artillery Company centre in London, celebrated the best of its 17 bars across the UK.

Manager Adam Wright was delighted to pick up the accolade, sponsored by drinks giant Diageo, and said the boozer had gone from strength to strength since its re-launch.

“The new design coupled with a renewed enthusiasm to provide the best customer experience possible within our staffing team has really put us at the premium end of the offer in Reading’s town centre,” he said. “We look forward to welcoming new customers into the bar to experience it for themselves.”
