KPMG staff enjoy park life

3/10/2007

STAFF at professional services firm KPMG rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty when they helped revamp a popular Reading park.

The 32-strong group of business advisers from the firm’s base in Arlington Business Park spent more than 100 hours carrying out a range of tasks to give Cintra Park a fresh new look.

The work included sanding and varnishing benches, painting fences around the park and cutting back vegetation.

The project was organised by CSV Employee Volunteering, which specialises in providing tailor-made assistance with a wide range of corporate volunteering activities.

Audit manager Jonathan Russell, who led the project, said: “The time given by the team as a whole meant that we could get a lot done and it was great to stand back at the end of the day and see what we had achieved.

“It was also an opportunity to put our team-working skills to the test, meaning everyone benefited from the project.”
