Calling all sunny secretaries and jolly janitors – the Evening Post is looking for Reading’s best employee.

Staff Idol – run in conjunction with delivery company UPS – is a new competition looking for nominations from bosses who think they’ve got the best employee in Reading.

The contest is open to workers from any field (or office, or factory) – all judges are looking for is characteristics that make clients, customers or colleagues smile all day.

Maybe you’ve got a long-term employee who’s never had a day off sick, a barmaid pulling in punters as well as pints or a hot-shot entrepreneur who’s doubled your company’s profits.

Whatever their talent, send in your nominations.

The Evening Post and UPS will be picking a monthly winner who will be featured in the paper, given a prize and put forward for a chance to win the Staff Idol 2006 crown at this year’s star-studded Pride of Reading awards in November.
