Facelift for pharmacy

12/12/2005

BUYING medicines at a Lower Earley pharmacy will never be the same again after it was given a revamp.

The new-look Alliance Pharmacy at the Asda Mall in Chalfont Way boasts a prescription drop-off facility and a consultation room where customers can have their blood pressure or cholesterol checked.

Dr Peter Johnson, a GP at The University of Reading surgery, who chairs Reading Primary Care Trust’s professional executive committee, reopened the pharmacy on Friday.

He said: “It’s good to see pharmacies developing the professional role of pharmacists

who have a lot to offer in the improvement of healthcare, and the new facilities provide a much more professional environment in which this can happen.”
