Bracknell beer festival a success thanks to you!By Tom Canning
June 14, 2012
On Bank Holiday Monday Bracknell Town Football Club pulled off the Herculean task of hosting a sell-out beer festival and we wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved, everyone who came along and above all everyone who got stuck into the event.
We were completely overwhelmed by the support for our event, from a small initial event last year where we had around 100 people in, to nearly 400 people coming through the door.
That’s over 1,000 pints drunk, 200-odd burgers and hot dogs consumed and a really good day/evening had by everyone I managed to speak to.
Obviously that amount of people meant we ran short of beer rather earlier than anticipated, but we are already planning ahead to a greater capacity for next year’s event, and, to be honest, we had some excellent musical acts (who all performed for free) so those who remained were too busy enjoying themselves to worry.
We’re a club run by some very dedicated volunteers, all who worked their socks off on the day to pull off my and Michael Keen’s plan, and in doing so seriously raised the profile of the club.
We’ve been very well supported by the town since the end of the season and I just wanted to say thank you to you all, it is much appreciated and we hope to see you next season!
