Katie Eleftheriou, fan turned boss of the Bracknell Bees, gives an insight into running a top ice hockey team.
Hello Bee Army,
The shirts are here! They are wrong but they are here! We will still be selling them despite this fact but we are where we are.
Welcome to another exciting week of ice hockey. The Bees seem to be getting their act together with some subtle changes made by Gareth Cox.
The more observant of you will have noticed what they are.
We had a relatively productive trip up the M1 to MK on Saturday.
A little more depth and stamina in the team will help but I am confident this will come.
I guess the fact the game went on for nearly three hours didn’t help.
We were amazed the DJ could get through a whole music track before the ref made a decision.
It really can’t be that difficult to make a decision can it? However, Sharon and I were having an interesting time in the Lightning bar, taking abuse from a MK fan.
I know I should have said something but you never think of these things until after the event.
Let’s hope we won’t be caught on the hop next time – I’m sure there will be another time. Some people can’t keep their opinions to themselves.
It was a very different story at home to Sheffield on Sunday. I for one am definitely seeing an improvement in the game play.
The Bees were far more confident and cohesive. It was nice to hear “You’ve been stung by the mighty Bracknell Bees” once again at the Hive. Bring it on! We want more.
It’s going to be a tough weekend unfortunately. Current league leaders the Phoenix will be no pushover and we have the joyful misfortune to have to play them back to back this weekend.
Keep following the Bee Army, Katie x
