Bees blog: Sixth man needed to help us reach play-offsBy Katie Eleftheriou
March 11, 2010
Katie Eleftheriou, fan turned boss of the Bracknell Bees, gives an insight into running a top ice hockey team.
Well another week has passed and we only have six games to go till the end of the season.
I can't believe it has gone by so quickly.
These last six games have become the most vital if we are to make a play-off spot after this weekend’s defeats.
I have to admit, I was expecting a loss against the Bison on Sunday, but to lose so badly against the Cats on Saturday was a big surprise!
The fans were also getting restless too!
Anyway, after the debacle on Saturday, we were all hoping for a much more competitive game against the Bison.
At least the Bees did not disappoint.
The game was certainly much more entertaining even if we didn't get the result.
At least we didn't have any serious injuries this week.
Although, we do have some serious Bees team solidarity. Bomber has a new name........ Sparticus Kaminskas.
The famous line "I'm Sparticus" is very apt.
Just make sure you check his gloves as he returns to the bench…a) for the number and b) for the left one because he was already wearing it........ Boniface obviously doesn't like stinky gloves being thrown at him and who would?
I also saw another first, the Netminder being sent off and given a game penalty for laughing. Classic piece of refereeing.
Well, we face the raiders from Romford on Saturday. I hope you will join us and be the sixth man as we need the points to ensure we reach the play-offs.
Then to Manchester on Sunday.
Still proud to be a Bee, Katie x
